Special District Listing
View a mailing list (XLS) of special districts located in Carbon County. The list was prepared by the Wyoming Department of Audit.
Special District Filing Requirements
Pursuant to Wyoming Statute 16-12-303 special districts in Wyoming must specify by September 30 each year where public documents will be filed. Entities with offices open 20 hours a week or more can file in their own offices. Those with offices not open at least 20 hours must file with the County Clerk. Special districts can find the required form (PDF) to be filed by September 30 each year. Find a checklist (PDF) to help special districts recall filing dates and requirements.
Select the year next to the entity you are interested in to find contact information and where their public records are filed. Select the year to view each district’s record filing location for each year. If there is no document for the district you are looking for they did not file one with the clerk. Budgets
Beginning 2018, special districts must file a proposed budget with the County Clerk by June 1 each year per WS. 9-1-507. The report includes the date, time and location if the special district hearing where final action will be taken on the proposed budget.
If the budget is not provided, the commissioners may not approve funding of the special district’s mill levy. Proposed budgets can be found here and adopted budgets can be found at:
